GHOHARY is a Dubai-based Couture house founded by designer Mohsen Ghohary, devoted to bridal and evening pieces made one at a time in our Al Wahda, Dubai atelier.
A Hazara designer. Formative years split between the Netherlands and Germany. He founded GHOHARY in Dubai at the age of twenty.
The discipline came before the address. He taught himself patternmaking between cities, in rooms borrowed from family, before he had a studio to hold it. By the time the atelier opened in Al Wahda, the way of working was already set — by hand, in person, one gown at a time.
Today the house holds to that line. Pieces are built from crepe, satin, and crystal — embroidered stitch by stitch over weeks, cut for one client, signed under the seal MG before they leave the room.
Every GHOHARY piece begins with a sketch and ends, weeks later, with a final hand-finished stitch. Between those moments sit the patternmakers, the draper, the embroiderers — a team whose combined craft is measured in decades rather than years.
We do not produce in bulk. Each gown is cut for one client, assembled under one roof, and finished before it leaves the atelier.
A fully embroidered GHOHARY bodice carries between forty and seventy thousand individual placements — crystal, bead, sequin, thread. Each one is set by hand, by an embroiderer working close to the fabric, often through the night.
The materials are kept short. Crepe, satin, crystal — nothing decorative is added that is not first justified.
The house operates from a private atelier in Al Wahda, Dubai — by appointment only. Visits begin with a conversation, move through fabric and silhouette, and end with a measured commission. Brides are seen separately from evening clients; couture sits apart from ready-to-wear.
GHOHARY has been worn on the pageant stage, on the red carpet, and in print. Each public appearance is recorded in full on the press page — with the piece, the occasion, and the year.
The current couture collection, Crystal Hour, is shown as a runway in full — one look at a time, in order, with no commerce chrome. It is the closest thing the house offers to a show on screen.
A GHOHARY bridal commission is a four- to six-month conversation. Every gown is made for one woman, for one occasion, and leaves the atelier only when she has seen it on her body. From 2026 forward, each bride who wishes is invited to share her full story on this site.
Visits are private, and every piece begins with a conversation. Reserve a time at our Al Wahda, Dubai atelier.
