GHOHARY

Brides.

A GHOHARY bridal commission is a four- to six-month conversation. Every gown is made for one woman, for one occasion, and leaves the atelier only when she has seen it on her body.

01 — The First Conversation

Begin in private

A bridal commission begins with a private consultation at the Al Wahda atelier — sometimes in person, sometimes by video for clients abroad. We talk about the wedding, the venue, the silhouette that suits the bride best, and the materials she would like the gown to be built from.

No fabric is cut before the conversation is held.

02 — The Sketch

Drawn within a week

A sketch is drawn and presented within a week of the first consultation. The bride signs the sketch; it becomes the contract for the commission.

Adjustments are made on paper before any toile is cut, so the gown is decided in concept before it is decided in fabric.

03 — The Fittings

Three, minimum

The first fitting is on the toile, to set the silhouette. The second is on the cut fabric, before embellishment begins, to check the proportions. The third is on the finished gown, the week before the wedding, to set hems and closures.

Brides who travel for the wedding sit additional fittings on either end of the trip if the journey is long.

04 — The Wedding Day

Delivered, steamed, ready

The gown is delivered to the bride two to three days before the wedding, fully steamed and packed in the atelier's own travel case. A member of the atelier is available by phone through the wedding day.

After the wedding, the gown returns once for inspection and is then signed off into archive.

05 — The Bride Story

One bride, told in full

From 2026 forward, each bride who wishes is invited to share the full story of her gown — the fittings, the wedding, the words — in a long-scroll page on this site.

The first bride story will be published the week of its launch. To put your name on the list, write to the atelier.
